PRACTICAL ADVICE FROM PARKER & BAILEY-OUR TOP 3 LAUNDRY TIPS

Some people enjoy doing the laundry. The thought of clean, fresh smelling clothes is enough to get them excited about performing the task. On the other hand, there are people that would rather cut the grass with a pair of scissors in order to avoid washing all of those dirty garments. It simply does not matter whether you enjoy it or not. Laundry is one of those household jobs that must be performed on a regular basis, sometimes on a daily basis. You might as well do the best job possible each and every time. So without further ado, here are our top three laundry tips.

1: Use Two Hampers/Laundry Baskets:

Sorting dirty clothes into whites and colors on laundry day can be a daunting task. That is why many of us decide to risk it all and throw the entire batch into the washing machine together. It may seem worth the risk at the time, but you could end up wearing light pink clothes all week. You can easily avoid the hassle of sorting and the chance of blending colors by purchasing two hampers or laundry baskets. Designate one for whites and the other for colors. Whenever you change clothes, simply throw the items into the proper hamper or laundry basket and the sorting is already done for you.

2: Take Care Of Clothing Stains ASAP

Eating, drinking, playing outside, and a host of other unfortunate mishaps can lead to stains. In many cases, the stains end up ruining your clothes. In order to remove those stains, it is important to take care of them ASAP. Do not wait for laundry day. Apply a multi-purpose stain remover to the soiled area by blotting it on with a dry white cloth. Like magic, the stain will disappear right before your very eyes. You can also add a capful of the stain remover to each laundry load in addition to the laundry detergent. It will help to brighten and clean the wash.

3: Use The Correct Water Temperature

Water temperature plays a big role in the overall results of the laundry process. For example, cold water is typically used for clothes that are made with delicate fabrics or may easily shrink. It is also preferred for dark colors that may bleed. You should use warm water for synthetic fabrics and mildly soiled items. Hot water is needed for towels, bedding, cotton based whites, and heavily stained clothes. Using the correct water temperature can make the difference between a successful day of doing laundry or ending up with clothes that will only fit on a doll.
